HammockBrightz LED Hammock Lights

This is a well built option for providing atmospheric lights to a campsite, a backyard hammock deployment or just for around the house. The LEDs are inside of the paracord giving a nice glow to the line. The spool is easy to use and the integrated battery holder, while a bit fiddly was easy enough to get the batteries installed. The spool itself . The cord itself is nice and long and is white with a black stripe on it. The LEDs are placed at roughly 6 inch increments.There are a few nitpicks that I'll mention. First the end of the cord terminates with wire that goes into the spool. The wires at the end are likely to be overstressed with use. The wire inside of the paracord that provides power to the LEDs tends to kink when wrapping around the spool when putting the cord away after use. The button on the bottom of the unit for turning the power on and off, while nice is in the perfect place for inadvertently turning the unit on when placing it on the ground.Two possible upgrades - put retroreflective thread where the black stripe is in the paracord in instead of the just black it would light up to a flashlight. The second upgrade would be to replace the AA Alkaline holder with a rechargeable lithium ion battery.Overall it's a good unit that provides nice atmospheric lighting for a set of purposes. I would recommend at discounted prices.

I love paracord and use it for all kinds of things so when I saw this I knew that I had to have it.It's your basic paracord with the guts removed and the insides were replaced with LED string lights. It's got a little hook on one end and is wrapped around a spool which serves as a battery pack. It's not meant to be weight bearing, mostly just cute ambient light. Not crazy bright, probably not enough to read by but more than enough to shed some light in an otherwise dark world.I'd love it more if it was rechargeable and the button on the spool is easy to turn on and could easily get switched on and drain the batteries if you aren't careful.Would I buy again? Absolutely.

I really like the spool. It holds the batteries and keeps the LED string neat. The notches around the rim let you lock the line onto the spool at any length. The line itself is about 25'. You can't use it like a lantern when wound but unwound it casts a modest light. One end of the line is a plastic clip, which will self-clip to form a loop. The other end is affixed to the spool. With two loops you can hang it up most anywhere.The one weakness is the line attachment to the spool. The cord runs out and just a bit of wires and silicone tube connect it to the spool. If you drop the spool it can jerk the end of the line and may cause the LEDs to fail.

I measured and there's a light about every 6 inches. For some reason, I had it in my mind that the entire strand would light up, more similarly to luminoodle, so I subtracted a half star for that. I also subtracted a half star because the roll has these nooks where you can affix the rope, but those were a very tight squeeze and I was concerned that I may affect the electronics inside, but might something I just need to get used to.But, I do like the compact size, I'm much more likely to use this while backpacking than the luminoodle because of how small it is - the roll is only about 3" tall and 2 1/2" wide, perfect to throw in a pack, especially if you are a hammock camper. I'm a tent camper but I like having some lights strung up to easily find the campsite if heading out to go to the bathroom or get water or firewood. Most of the time I only bring my headlamp for light when backpacking to save space/weight, but this will definitely make the cut next time I go, whether or not it continues to make the cut, only time will tell.At this point, I say worth it, if anything changes I will come back and update my review.

I really like the spool concept for these lights, and the length is almost perfect for going along the ridgeline and back on my suspension. One end of the cord is finished in a hook, which easily fits the diameter of the cord if you have to double it back. I do have concerns for how well the power cord is anchored in the unit, and to the cord, but these are the things that use over time will show.I also like how you can carry it as a lantern when all spooled up.The only negative I could find about this item is that the power button extends from the base, meaning if you had the spool stowed in a pack it could easily get accidentally switched on and run down the battery. Separating the battery pack from the unit would overcome this, or one could remove just one battery or insert a piece of paper at the end of a battery as an insulator. A recessed power switch would also address this.Overall, this item has earned a place in my kit. I will update this review as warranted.

The Brightz HammockBrightz LED Rope Light is absolutely a true rope light, as the wire and led light bulbs are contained inside 18 feet of paracord, so basically it's a super tough rope light. This is absolutely fantastic and I definitely recommend getting at least 1, the hammock light can be used for so much more than just as a hammock light.This puts out a good amount of light similar to plug in rope light. This is perfect for lighting a tent, table, chair, and or as a mood light. The battery life really depends on what batteries you are using as this takes 3 standard AA batteries, obviously you can use rechargeable batteries as well.The attachment options are fantastic, the very end has a clip that can attach to the paracord light allowing it to easily attach to almost anything via a loop. The battery compartment and switch also have multiple clip in points along with a carabiner allowing multiple different configurations and mounting situations.For storage this is very well thought out, you simply detach everything then roll it back up with the battery / switch container. Once it's completely rolled to the end you simply pull the paracord rope through one of the clip points so it doesn't unroll until you want it to. This makes storing this super easy as well as it really doesn't take up much of any space or add much weight to your load, but offers a solid line along with light.As for the paracord side, this can be used as a clothesline during daylight or to hang (not super heavy) supplies like cooking utensils and other items that you want to be visible for quick access.For the price plus the versatility as so much more than a hammock light I definitely recommend this Brightz, Hammockbrightz led rope light.I really appreciate you taking the time to read all of that, moreover I hope it helps you to make a solid decision and lights your way to such a fantastic rope light.I hope that you currently are, and continue to have a fantastic day and get a chance to enjoy some nature.-GhosT

We were looking for a portable outdoor light that gave enough light to see dice. Our first attempt was to wrap it around the legs of an outdoor glass table but, while it does look cool like that, this isn’t bright enough to illuminate the top of dice. Second attempt, we stuck a pole through the umbrella hole and wrapped the light up the pole. This worked for our purposes (see photo)A few things to note:- It takes batteries that fit inside the spool for power (see photo). It comes with a carabiner to hang the spool, which makes this work pretty well. In the second photo, you can see we used the carabiner to hang it under the center of the table.- The “paracord” is a thin mesh netting. The resulting width is about the size of a thick shoelace. We haven’t had any issues yet, but be careful not to twist it too much because it will definitely create kinks in the rope.- This is not waterproof so keep that in mind if you live, or are camping in, a wet region. You’ll need to keep the spool dry.Overall, while it’s not the brightest light, it does put out enough that would be sufficient in a hammock. It works best if the lights are double or tripled up. I forgot how annoying batteries are to keep on hand and replace, so personally I’d go for a rechargeable option if I bought something like this again.As a regular Amazon consumer, I depend on reviews to make my buying choices. As a Vine reviewer, I give honest reviews in hopes they can help you make informed purchases of new products.

Love these! They’re longer than I expected which is nice as it gives you more flexibility in terms of spacing between trees or objects, we actually used them over our tents as porch lights. And there’s more lights than I thought, once it’s dark, the string really lights up and they’re built into the cord so more durable

There are plenty of lights and they provide dim light that is plenty to see inside your hammock in the dark. The cordage can be doubled back and locked in to place on the spool. Fantastic buy. Will be buying a future set!

A fun little LED light for brightening up your hammock at dark. The LEDs provide a decent amount of light, not too much, but not too dim. The lights wind up around the spool, making it easy to store. The only downsides are I wish this thing use AAA batteries instead of AA, since most of my camping/backpacking stuff uses AAAs, and also that the location of the on button makes it easy to accidently turn this thing on unintentionally when it is in a pack.

This is good for dark campgrounds when you're trying to add ambiance or just find your hammock. It is a little heavy, so not recommended for ultralight campers. It is easy to use set up. I wish you could adjust the brightness and also wish the on/off wasn't a button. We packed the lights and the button was pressed while transporting and the batteries were dead when we needed it.

So, the lights themselves are nice and having them inside of cordage does help a fair bit, but it also seems like the material (paracord I believe) is dulling the lights out a lot. Since this isn't something I would say needs heavy duty material, I think having a slightly thinner cord could possibly help brighten them a bit.The only real downside to this product is that the button on the spool for turning the lights on and off is not recessed. This makes it super easy to turn on and off when it's packed up with your gear. For people like me, carrying a 85L backpack means that it's gonna eventually get pressed by something else that's in my bag and that'll kill the battery for sure.Other than that, grab it when it's on sale! It's nice, but I Feel like $15 or so is a little more reasonable.

This is a really neat concept, and it does work. That said, it's kind of hard to use.The first major problem that I have with it, is that it requires three AA batteries. We barely buy batteries in my household anymore, because we live in the future and everything is powered by lithium ion batteries and the few remotes and things that still take batteries all take AAAs. It took me a while to get around to using it, cuz I had to order a pack of AA batteries from Amazon and have them delivered.The next issue, is that The assembly which holds these batteries isn't clearly marked as to how it fits back into place, and I did have to fumble with it for about 11 minutes to get the batteries to fit back in. I bet that you get the hang of it doing it all the time, but I also don't imagine using these enough to be changing the batteries all the time. I can envision a camping trip where I've set these up on a hammock and left them all night only to have them fail on the second night of a camping trip and then have to fumble for spare batteries in the dark. It's not something that I'm looking forward to, but the lights are neat.It looks like paracord, but you can feel the stiff wire from the fairy lights inside them, so there's some extra rigidity to it. I would be hesitant to hang anything off of them, so I'd run it parallel to a Ridgeline on a hammock. The spool itself is the battery housing, and there's a carabiner attached to plastic eye which unscrews to give you access to the batteries. It takes three batteries, which is an odd number so also less than ideal. At the end of the hammock string light is a hook so that you can create a loop without having to tie fancy knots or anything, and the carabiner will be your other anchor point. The action on the caribiner seems pretty nice.It's not especially bright, but it does create a really neat whimsical mood. It would probably give you enough light to say find your shoes or your flashlight, but don't expect to read instructions or anything. It would be great if you had kids sleeping in a hammock that were afraid of the dark, because it's a really nice wilderness nightlight.My only real problem with this thing is that I think that the three AA batteries should be replaced by some kind of rechargeable lithium ion battery or USB port.

Cute concept for portable string lights. Definitely more for just decoration and not usable lighting. They are not bright at all. I have another set of string lights that I use for camping and they actually can be used for lighting when you need it. I was hoping this would be similar but it isn't.That being said I do like them. They add a nice atmosphere to wherever you string them up. I'm not sure about longevity because the set up does seem a bit fragile to me, but I'm sure if you are careful with them they will last a long time.They take three AA batteries which I like. I know, old school. I use rechargeable batteries quite a bit in other things around the house so I have spares around. I'm still on the fence about everything having built in batteries these days because I've had them go bad in things before and then it's just trash. Built in batteries are great and convenient......until they aren't! Plus it's just one less charging cord to keep track of.I'm giving them 4 stars instead of 5 just because they don't seem like they would take a lot of abuse. But it is a nice and different take on all the string lights I've seen out there.

I bought this product to potentially backpack with on my hammock set-up. Well, I got the chance to use it at our cub scout Adventure Camp outing earlier this week. I read all of the reviews, good and bad before buying this product so I would be prepared with its durability and practicality. Superb product. Extremely long for what I needed, but perfectly fine, I will find uses for the length as I become more accustomed to it. While the on/off button on the bottom can easily be turned on by accident in your pack or on the counter while packing up and waste your batteries, it made it VERY easy to turn on and off through my hammock's bug net while I was camping. I read someone said it wasn't waterproof as it may have claimed it was, but you wouldn't believe Mother Nature put that to the test this past week! Goodness, just minutes after we finished setting up our unit's tents (and me my hammock), the skies opened up and with thunderous booms and I swear Niagra Falls of rainstorms; system after system for the next 3-4 hours. Our campsites were flooded and our tents SOAKED (except my hammock and my items under the ridgeline tarp, of course)! No worse for wear, the scouts and parents dried out that evening as best we could and we continued on with our camping trip. Not only did the roll and spanned length of lights still work that evening though the paracord sheath was soaked, it continued to work each evening of the campout- the whole rest of the trip. I even had it on for over 10 hours on night 3 because my young son wanted it on. Grade A, top notch work guys! I would love to see a 9 or 10 ft length of this exact product, with the bulbs closer together along the string if possible, available for those of us who try to count packed weight on trips and only need the length of our hammocks. Also, I would have ordered a natural or warmer white (not straight-up yellow, but a softer white light) if it were available rather than bright white for my eyes as I struggle with migraines often (I used to live by bright-white lights only because I'm an artist and I love seeing more accurate, vibrant colors in everything around me). The overall brightness amounted to a low glow enough to see my stuff, but not bright enough to read by. I may double- or triple-back the strung length of my hammock in the future to get more light from it. Perfect so as not to detract the nighttime experience from other campers under the stars... or if anyone was trying to sleep). I am extremely impressed and happy with this product and look forward to improvements if and when they consider newer or different versions of it. Those are my thoughts and suggestions and I hope it helps others with their purchase.
